Slate Living Tutorial

So much for an update a day (work and school decided to demand more time). There's been a few exchanges on the Slate mailing list about the need for tutorials, language comparisons, etc. Hopefully something will come of it.

Started the living tutorial today and added file reading. I'm hoping to add at least one code snippet a day to this. If a couple others also contribute in this manner, we'll have a lot of information in a short period of time.
